He drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me. Psalm 18:16, NLT
We all need a healer.
We are all scarred. Our hearts ravaged by people, circumstances, and lies we have believed about ourselves.
We all need a Savior.
A place of safety to run to that we won’t be pushed out of.
Someone who knows our deepest pain and brokenness, and loves us still.
Someone who wants to protect us.
Someone to whom we are not a burden, but to whom we can lay our burdens down– and let go of them safely.
If you have been abused or abandoned in your life, you will know there is a deep place in your heart that breaks and retreats because of it.
And broken things need mending.
Only God can mend a broken heart because he is the one who made it. Only he has the thread which weaves the torn and tattered pieces of our lives into something new– and paints them onto a fresh canvas.
He heals and restores.
Something old for something new.
The painful past in exchange for a hopeful future.
Ashes for beauty.
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. Psalm 40:1-3, NIV

Night spoke into me.
As my prayers.
Ascended.
Into the heart of God.
As His peace came.
Held me.
In the softness of a Love.
I had never known.
Tenderness lifted me.
Comforted me.
Quieted me.
Assured me.
Loved me.
Beyond me.
My wounds lost their power.
Fear lost its grip on my heart.
Light swept my darkness away.
As you calmed the storm within me.
You whispered.
“Be still, my Love, For I am with you, always.”
As my eyes opened.
Beheld the heart of You.
Heard Your Living Word,
Your Truth spoke into me.
Spoke a gentleness I longed to know.
Heart touching heart.
A restoring Grace.
Lifting the lies holding me captive.
Breathing new life into me.
In that moment I knew.
My heart was free.
From all that sought me.
Came to harm me.
Came to separate me,
From Your Love.
Your peace is mine.
Your Love is mine.
Be still my heart,
Take courage.
Listen to My Song.
My Song of Joy freedom.
My Song of Joyous Love for you.
In the Heart of Your Song,
The waiting ended.
In the freedom of Pure Love.
Trusting all to God…
I leave all behind.
Give every burden,
Every pain,
Every lie,
I give it all to My Lord,
My Love,
The Love that set me free.
Amen.
