Jehovah Rapha

Jehova Rapha My Healer

He drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me. Psalm 18:16, NLT

We all need a healer.

We are all scarred. Our hearts ravaged by people, circumstances, and lies we have believed about ourselves.

We all need a Savior.

A place of safety to run to that we won’t be pushed out of.

Someone who knows our deepest pain and brokenness, and loves us still.

Someone who wants to protect us.

Someone to whom we are not a burden, but to whom we can lay our burdens down– and let go of them safely.

If you have been abused or abandoned in your life, you will know there is a deep place in your heart that breaks and retreats because of it.

And broken things need mending.

Only God can mend a broken heart because he is the one who made it. Only he has the thread which weaves the torn and tattered pieces of our lives into something new– and paints them onto a fresh canvas.

He heals and restores.

Something old for something new.

The painful past in exchange for a hopeful future.

Ashes for beauty.

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. Psalm 40:1-3, NIV
